xQc Slams “Pathetic” Hot Tub ‘Meta’

Twitch streamer Felix Lengyel aka xQc has recently posted a tweet regarding his opinion towards the growing trend of hot tub streams on the platform. The Hot Tub streams are running wild on Twitch and these streams have been a matter of controversy for a while now, and people have expressed different opinions about it including Valkyrae who also spoke about these streams. However, her opinion was completely different from xQc as she went on to state that these streamers aren’t hurting anyone and that the hate directed towards them was unnecessary.

While xQc has very strong words for hot tub streams on Twitch as he recently wrote on twitter; “I’M GONNA BE HONEST. THIS HOT TUB META IS BY FAR THE MOST PATHETIC THING WE’VE SEEN ON TWITCH IN FOREVER. WHAT A SAD REALITY. PLEASE GET THIS TRASH OFF THE FRONTPAGE”.

The “hot tub meta” is a style of streaming in the IRL section that’s grown in popularity over the last few months. By streaming from a bath or hot tub, streamers have been able to get away with wearing more revealing clothing without breaking the platform’s terms of service for sexual content.

Twitch is a platform usually tailored towards gamers for streaming games like Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone, to name a few. Hot tub streams deviate from that, and this is what xQc seemed to be highlighting. XQc isn’t the first prominent streamer to voice his opinion and other content creators have said similar things in the past as Twitch streamer Asmongold also spoke about the platform’s double standards when it comes to banning users for sexual content. He suggested that by not enforcing the standards upon all users, the platform is, in turn, creating “anti-women sentiment.” Regardless, while many twitter users have come out in support of xQc’s statement, other people went on to say that if they don’t like it, they could choose to ignore it.
