xQc Reacts To Mizkif Statements About Women On Twitch

On Twitch, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel contradicted Mizkif’s argument that women are constrained by a “glass ceiling,” stating that it all depends on their approach and technique.

Mizkif crossed the 100 to 200 viewer threshold on Twitch on March 6, claiming that women have a “much easier time.” He also says they are hampered by a “glass ceiling” that is nearly “impossible to get through.” xQc, on the other hand, disagrees. He believes that is true to some extent, but that it is contingent on the nature of their content — and, more especially, whether their strategy is centered on focusing on parasocial viewers.

Here’s what xQc have stated; “This is half-true and half disingenuous. If you take the argument at face value, this is correct. It’s true women overall have an easier time getting to the 200 – 300 viewer mark because of certain appeals. If you cater heavily to parasocial viewers and give them what they want, you’re giving them attention. But what happens when numbers scale up? People get less attention, so they watch less.”

As a result, he doesn’t believe it affects all women on Twitch. xQc referenced Pokimane to illustrate his point. he further added; “There were times where she catered more to individuals, but later on, she focused entirely on gameplay and entertainment, which is completely separate.”

In terms of success, Poki is an outlier. She is, after all, the platform’s tenth most popular streamer. xQc, on the other hand, believes she is the perfect example of a woman who has shattered the apparent glass ceiling.
