xQc Defends Dream

After Minecraft star Dream was accused of manipulating his fans with a viral Twitter message, Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel came to his defense.

On December 2nd, a resurfaced post from Minecraft creator Dream went viral when streamer Yabbe called the 22-year-old “manipulative” with his fans. During his live broadcast, Twitch star xQc had a different view on the 2020 social media post and defended the YouTuber’s statement.

Dream sent out a tweet in 2020 informing his fans that he loved them. He stated; “I genuinely love and care about you. Not every content creator will feel the same as me, but I’m being genuine every time I say it,” On December 2, 2021, a year later, the old social media post provoked outrage as streamer Yabbe labeled it “disgusting” and an example of manipulation.

Twitch streamer xQc then defended him, stating, “I think he worded it poorly.”

Many content creators, according to xQc, have no connection to their fans. He stated; “A lot of people just make their videos and don’t give a s**t about the comments or interacting with their fans. They kind of just upload and do whatever. That’s what Dream means.”

When viewers objected, xQc stated that YouTubers can’t be compared to Twitch creators since they don’t have direct engagement with their viewers as streamers do every time they go live. He further explained; “Guys, the YouTube side is much different from the Twitch side. This is YouTube. It’s NOT Twitch! Dream’s message is for YouTube viewers. It’s way less interactive than Twitch.”

Despite the fact that Dream’s tweet was sent in 2020, it triggered a new round of criticism from viewers and critics who thought it was emotionally deceptive. While many people were offended by the statement, one supporter of the Minecraft star is xQc, who believes that others are misinterpreting it.
