Wrongful Ban Lifted After Reddit Thread Goes Viral 18 Months Later

A Twitch streamer that goes by the username RyanWasTaken has been banned from the platform since July 2019. The ban happened as the platform accused him of “fraudulent activity,” such as using stolen credit cards to buy subs or defrauding his community. However, RyanWasTaken has been denying the accusations ever since he got banned stating that he did not do any of the accusations. He claimed; “I got this email and it says that I was engaging in fraudulent activity in purchases or payouts and that I’m banned indefinitely. I didn’t do that”.

After years of being silent, Ryan has now decided to take a step to address the wrongful ban that was handed to him. So, Ryan uploaded a youtube video on April 7th addressing the wrongful ban and surprisingly, the video has become viral on the internet. In the video, he stated; “I absolutely agree with not unbanning a Twitch account for doing that but I didn’t do any of these things. Every purchase I made on Twitch I made through my PayPal account or my own debit card, both of which I can prove are mine and I have access too.” Also, RyanWasTaken have posted a series of tweet on twitter tagging TwitchSupport in the process.

He wrote, “Hey, TwitchSupport, is there anything I can do to actually get a reply about this 18 month long false accusation?” Now, after the tweet and his youtube video went viral, RyanWasTaken has been finally unbanned on the platform that means he is now free to stream again on the platform. He announced the great news to his fans via posting on twitter; “GUYS THEY DID IT THANK YOU SO MUCH I’M ACTUALLY CRYING”!
