World of Warcraft Greatest MMO

Although Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek admits to being addicted to Lost Ark, he believes it will never overtake World of Warcraft as the best MMO of all time, and he explains why.

Shroud’s admiration for the Lost Ark is well-known. He acknowledged becoming addicted on February 20th. He’s spent a ridiculous amount of money on the game since then, and he’s even made fun of his addiction. Despite this, and despite the fact that he claims it to be the “most complete” MMO he’s ever played, he feels it will never overtake World of Warcraft as the best MMO due to how magical it was for him at the time. 

When a fan inquired if he’s enjoying the Lost Ark as much as he did when World of Warcraft was at its peak, he replied; “Does this game bring me the same joy as WoW did when it first came out? Hell no! That feeling of playing World of Warcraft for the first time will never ever be replicated ever again. It got close to World of Warcraft Classic, but that feeling is never going to come back.”

It wasn’t only due to the excellent quality of the game. It was also due to the fact that he was a kid at the time, which added to the magic. He added; “I was 11 years old. I didn’t know what the f**k I was doing, and that made it amazing. Not knowing what you’re doing as a kid is amazing. Now that you’re an adult, you can’t help it. You have to learn, and you have to figure out how to do things more efficiently. But as a kid, you don’t give a f**k.”

Shroud also admitted he enjoyed New World more than Lost Ark. Neither of them, though, came close to the magic he felt the first time he played World of Warcraft. But, of course, that was all in the past. In its current state, he has a significantly lower opinion of the game.
