Why Sodapoppin Has Not Been Streaming Lately

Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris, a Twitch streamer who has been significantly absent from streaming since the beginning of May, has now claimed that it’s due to a lack of desire.

Sodapoppin is a Twitch veteran who has been streaming since 2012. Not to mention, he’s one of the most well-known faces on the Amazon-owned network, with 8.8 million followers. However, the streamer has recently experienced some difficulties. He was unexpectedly banned in April for making “blackfacing” remarks. Although he stated that the suspension was “deserved,” it caused him and his family anguish.

Fans were understandably concerned for Soda as his livestreams began to become scarce — he had barely streamed once in the previous seven days. Despite this, he claimed that he simply “doesn’t want to.” Sodapoppin reacted to followers’ concerns over his disappearance on April 9. The 28-year-old, however, claimed that his absence was due to a lack of motivation to stream.

Here’s what he stated; “Sorry haven’t streamed lately. I just haven’t felt like it and I don’t force myself to do it. Might be live [tomorrow], might not. Just tweeting this cause people keep asking me if something is up and nah I just don’t wanna [stream] lol nothin’ else.”

Fans expressed their support for Soda and thanked him for taking the time to “recharge” – something that many streams are unwilling to do.  Soda may not be streaming as frequently on Twitch as he once was, but he has continued to generate YouTube content. He posted an almost two-hour video on May 9th in which he played the story-based game The Stanley Parable. Soda has already spoken openly about his problems to keep up with demand, which led to a significant Adderall addiction.
