Voyboy Banned

Joedat Esfahani aka Voyboy is a League of Legends eSports player and a popular Twitch streamer. He is an American from Berkeley, California. He was previously a mid laner for Genius Gang. He is best known for his time on Team Dignitas and Team Curse. Voyboy currently has over one million followers on Twitch. Voyboy was recently banned from the Twitch platform claing that he doesn’t know the reason for his ban.

It happened during one of his recent live broadcasts when he stated that he was just playing the game League of Legends when Twitch suddenly banned his channel. The popular Twitch streamer tweeted out on Twitter about this. He stated; “Uhm. Was just streaming League 5 minutes ago when my @Twitch account got banned…”.

Because Twitch did not release specific information regarding his ban, fans don’t know how long the ban will be. However, many have speculated that the DMCA strike might be the cause.

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act or DMCA is a 1998 United States copyright law. It criminalizes production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services intended to circumvent measures that control access to copyrighted works. Recently, some Twitch streamers, even those most popular streamers, have been getting strikes from DMCA copyright because of some of their clips and VOD’s had some copyrighted music in it. They were encouraged to review their channels and remove any content that could be copyrighted.
