Valkyrae Responds to Backlash

100 Thieves recently gave away a total of $450,000 to fans during their highly anticipated Cash App Pay Day stream. However, the event has been heavily criticized by the viewers for participants not wearing masks and ignoring social distancing norms in general and now, 100 Thieves co-owner and streamer Rachel Hofstetter aka Valkyrae has defended her organization as she responded to criticism.

On April 20, the 100 Thieves organization brought a number of top creators from across the internet together to compete in the Cash App Pay Day tournament. The stream was a lot of fun and fans saw multiple worlds collide, however, a number of viewers were disappointed with what they saw. Some fans have criticized the event as they called out for the lack of masks and social distancing in place during the stream. Because of this, one of the co owners of 100 thieves Valkyrae have come to defend the organization. She addressed the situation via twitter post as she wrote; “Everybody was tested prior AND again before entering the building, health inspector, masks on off camera, most vaccinated, Covid information pamphlet with rules and guidelines, foolish to think we would do this without.”

Also, 100T’s VP of Talent and Entertainment, Jackson Dahl, reiterated her point as he replied to Valkyrae’s tweet writing; “To add even more detail, we PCR tested every person who attended today both one week prior, 24 hr PCR the day before, and rapid tested before entry.”
