Valheim Passes 4 Million Sales!

In less than three weeks, Valheim has sold over four million copies on Steam Early Access as developer Iron Gate studio and Coffee Stain Publishing announced. What is Valheim? Valheim is a game about exploring a huge fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Viking culture. You start your adventure at the relatively peaceful center of Valheim. The further from the center you travel, the more challenging the world becomes.

The Iron Gate team said in the announcement; “When Valheim first hit Steam Early Access just three weeks ago, we hoped that all the hard work our small team put into the game these past three years would get the attention it deserved, Little did we know just how much Valheim would resonate with all four million of you.” Along with four million units sold before the game is even done, Valheim has climbed to number 57 on the list of highest-rated games on Steam thanks to over 80,000 positive reviews.

Valheim also surpassed over 500,000 concurrent players, knocking out platform champions like CS:GO, Dota 2, and GTAV. Twitch wasn’t too far behind with a peak concurrent viewer count of 188,000 on February 22. With its impressive milestones in mind, Valheim is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. The growth for Valheim has been purely exponential over the course of February and the game could easily continue to grow its player base throughout the year.
