Tyler1 Responded To Claims

In response to accusations that popular esports organization T1 had cancelled their streaming collaboration owing to “brand risks,” Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp has taken aim at how the notoriously volatile Twitch star is seen in the gaming world.

Tyler1 joined with the world-famous T1 esports organization in October 2020, in a near-perfect turn of events. Tyler1 teamed up with Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, the undisputed GOAT of League of Legends and three-time global champion, to promote the T1 esports organization and to emblazon the T1 logo across his streaming platforms. T1 and T1 have, however, parted ways just 14 months later.

Tyler1 insists there was no foul play in the separation, despite suggestions that his standing as a “brand risk” had something to do with it.

They parted ways “totally mutual,” according to the top League of Legends streamer. The high-profile cooperation had been profitable for both of them into 2020 and 2021, but they were both exploring new possibilities once the 14-month arrangement expired in January.

He said; “Yeah, we’re officially off T1. Sad day guys, sad day. There was no reason, no. It was mutual. Typical. I was not kicked out. It’s not corporate talk, I swear!” but then the “dropped” claims continued, however, and Tyler1 hit a new pitch hitting back: “It’s not because I’m a brand risk. Actually, it’s not. I’m not a f**king brand risk!”

Despite his 200-hour-per-month Twitch deal, Tyler1’s departure from the South Korean behemoth puts him as a free agent once more, at least in terms of esports organizations and his major source of sponsored income of 200 hours per month. However, there’s a good probability Steinkamp will remain unsigned.

Tyler1’s affection for Faker and the fact that he signed with T1 was a match made in heaven, and one that is unlikely to happen again. Furthermore, the 26-year-old has over 4.7 million Twitch followers and a monthly average of 20k subscribers, so any org signature would be a bonus rather than a necessity.
