Tyler Oakley Taking YouTube Break

Mathew Tyler Oakley is an American YouTuber, actor, activist and author. Much of Oakley’s activism has been dedicated to LGBTQ+ youth, LGBT rights, as well as social issues including health care, education, and the prevention of suicide among LGBT youth. Recently, Tyler revealed that he is finally taking a break from YouTube.

During the past 12 years, he consistently uploaded videos to the platform every Tuesday. He uploaded a video entitled ‘See ya later’ telling his fans and supporters that he will be taking a hiatus from uploading videos. He cited frustrations with having to cancel projects amid the 2020 health crisis as a major reason for his decision to step back. He stated in his video that he will be focusing on other things and that he is ready to develop some fun new little things.

Regardless of him taking his hiatus, he made clear to his fans that he’s not going to permanently leave the platform, as he claimed that he would be returning at some point. Creator burnout is a massive problem in the modern age.
