Twitch Star Amouranth Slams Claims

Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa, a Twitch star and well-known content creator, responded to viewers who claimed female streamers need to be “hot” to be successful.

Amouranth has taken the streaming world by storm, and her efforts have earned her the title of Best ASMR Streamer at The Streamer Awards. Aside from streaming, the Playboy bunny has made a fortune with her OnlyFans content, and she usually spends her earnings in bizarre properties like a $10 million 7-Eleven, a plastic ball company, and a lot of stock. Her popularity hasn’t gone unnoticed, with some even claiming that the only reason she has a following is due to her appearance — something the Twitch legend didn’t take lightly.

Siragusa called out individuals who think they’re only successful due to their beauty in a picture with Amouranth posing with popular Twitch stars like Alinity and Alexandra Botez at The Streamer Awards. She explained; “If you see that all/almost all the [women] who are super successful at streaming ‘look like supermodels’ and the conclusion you draw is ‘all it takes to be successful as a female content creator is to be hot,’ it’s kind of like arriving at the conclusion that all it takes to be a successful male creator is to avoid cleaning your streaming room,”

She also likened girls looking well to Asmongold and xQc not cleaning their streaming rooms, which the MMORPG streamer and former Overwatch League pro is known for. She added; “Maybe attributing the lion’s share of the observed result to the baseline commonality isn’t using your thinking hat,”

Going to a basketball game and concluding that all you need to be good is to be tall, according to Amouranth, is like going to a basketball game and concluding that all you need to be excellent is to be tall. She described it as a “blissfully ignorant take.”

Obviously, being a good streamer entails more than just being attractive, and Amouranth’s economic acumen may enable her to retire earlier than some of her male rivals. The question of female and male streamer success has recently been a hot topic. Notably, Mizkif argued that women have an easier time coming into the streaming scene than men, but that they have a tougher time breaking over the glass ceiling than men — a point that another Twitch icon Pokimane concurred with.

It will be interesting to see how Amouranth’s streaming cohorts respond to her assertions and whether they agree with her viewpoints.
