Twitch Partner Pedguin Banned

A partnered twitch streamer that goes by his username Pedguin has recently been banned from the platform after using the emote of winnie the pooh which the platform considered as inappropriate. Twitch streamer Pedguin has been streaming on the platform for a decade and recently, he got his first ever ban from the platform for using a certain emote that has now been removed from the platform.

The emote in question that got Pedguin banned from the platform was a winnie the pooh sitting on a hot tub surrounded with money. This emote has been removed from the platform for the reason of ‘sexual content’. Also, it turns out that the winnie the pooh emote was not the only emote to be removed as twitch streamer Pedguin revealed on his recent twitter post that a series of other ‘gasm-style’ emotes had been pulled due to their suggestiveness too. This was surprising, given that it had previously been manually approved by Twitch, before being removed, and then reinstated again after another review.

On twitter, Pedguin announced to his followers that after 7 years of being a partnered streamer on Twitch, it was confirmed that he got his first ban on the platform because of the emotes. He wrote: “It’s upsetting though as I don’t think I abused the system. They never told me what was specifically wrong with my emotes, I tried changing the suffixes and the emotes to appease Twitch without guidance, but alas, a ban.”

He also clarified on his twitter post that his ban wasn’t permanent as it was only for 24 hours but according to him, he may face possible emote restrictions upon his return. Because of this, some of his fans have started using the hashtag ‘#unbanpedguin’, in hopes that Twitch will reverse their decision.
