Twitch Has New Stream Display Ads

Popular streaming platform Twitch recently implemented a new optional ad system that would be less disruptive and will allow viewers to still see streamers while the ads play.

Between Twitch and its community, there has always been a love-hate relationship but on the other hand, Twitch has made positive waves by adding new 350 tags that was brought on by the high demand from people of the community. On the other hand, it is also often the source of controversy because of its decision whenever banning its users, with its reasons that seem ambiguous and obscure.

Twitch recently posted on Twitter announcing that a new ad format called Stream Display Ads was being implemented and says that this new system will make ads less disruptive. Twitch has once again listened to its feedback and says that these new ads will be displayed at the bottom of the streamer’s stream and viewers will still be able to watch, see, and hear the streamer. The information says that this feature is optional and streamers are free to opt-out this new ad format.

Knowing that ads can be disruptive like when a Minecraft speedrun was interrupted last year by a Twitch ads. This new ad format will more likely to be a good option to the streamers knowing that it will less likely interrupt any twitch streams.

Also the information also states that streamers and content creators will still receive revenues from these new ads and generally, this new ad system will be useful overall. Many hope that this Stream Display Ads will be considered a positive move and that it will make a nice change to the platform.
