Twitch ‘Brand Safety Score’

Streaming platform Twitch is planning to introduce a new better support ad sponsorship matching called ‘brand safety score’.

The new change is not yet confirmed by Twitch and there is still no official statement/news about it. It was only dug up by a cybersecurity expert named Daylam Tayari. He said that Brand Safety Score is what it is called and its purpose is to check or measure a twitch channel if it is appropriate for sponsored content or not.

Daylam Tayari also explained how it will be used and said that twitch ‘brand safety score’ will be giving the brands an idea if a streamer fits their brand or not and according to him, the metric will factor based on their age, automod, ban history, chat behavior, games played, manual ratings by Twitch and more.

Twitch is still not releasing any information about the new feature but when The Verge reached out to them and asked about when it will roll out, they only said that they are only exploring possibilities for better match to brands with streamers and made it clear that as of now, nothing has launched yet and still no personal information about the alleged new feature was shared but they slightly confirms by replying to Daylam Tayari’s tweet and explaining how it will work.

The chance of this new feature is quite strong because Twitch itself made a comment and shares small information about it. It will also help the advertisers and sponsors to choose whether they want to partner with the streamer based on their performance using ‘Brand Safety Score’.
