Twitch Boost Gains On Pokimane, xQc And Mizkif Over Hate Raid Drama

Disguised Toast, a Twitch star, detailed the unexpected bump numerous streamers earned for addressing last month’s hate raid incident between Pokimane and Jidion.

Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys was the target of a hate raid organized by fellow streamer Jidion in January. Jidion had instructed his fans to spam “L+Ratio” into Pokimane’s chat, but the harassment went much further; Anys reported that her fans were also being harassed, and that her direct messages were being filled with inappropriate comments. After being permanently banned by Twitch as a result of the ordeal, Jidion has apologized for the raid and distanced himself from the situation.

Surprisingly, Jidion posted a selfie of himself with Pokimane a few weeks later, seemingly hinting at a future collaboration with the Twitch star.

On the OfflineTV Podcast, fellow Twitch streamer Disguised Toast discussed the conflict between Pokimane and Jidion with YouTube’s Valkyrae, and revealed some shocking details about the turmoil. Toast said that, despite all of the damage the hate raid had caused, it had actually increased the audience of various streams when they discussed the matter.

Here’s what he stated; “Twitch channels covering it, everyone’s viewership — I was watching, like, when Pokimane was talking about it, she doubled her viewership from 20k to 50k. Mizkif went to 70k. xQc went to 120,000 viewers covering the event. I love it. I had the whole stream opened up in the living room and was just watching along. But when you’re in the drama, it kind of sucks.”

The internet loves drama, and streamers expressing their opinions on the viral beef between Pokimane, Jidion, and Ninja made for a popcorn-worthy affair for many viewers, according to Disguised Toast.
