Trainwrecks Blasts Discord

Discord has come under fire from former Twitch streamer Trainwrecks as people imitate him there in an effort to scam fans.

Trainwrecks was formerly one of the most popular streamers on Twitch and is well known for his controversial gambling streams. The 32-year-old was still one of the most watched creators on Twitch in 2022 despite only appearing live a few times in the final three months of the year. Over the years, Train has been quite giving to both his followers and other streamers, claiming to have distributed over $70 million to date. Additionally, he has established counseling and support services for his community.

Users are now copying the broadcaster on Discord because of his generosity, which has prompted Trainwrecks to criticize the platform for allowing it to happen. Scammers have started posing as the well-known streamer using Discord’s premium service Nitro, which allows users to define a personalized tag.

Trainwrecks stated that a user with the same identity and tag has been soliciting donations from his followers in a tweet on February 5. The streamer criticized Discord, asking why it would permit this to happen. He complained to Discord, saying, “@discord your nitro subscription is allowing somebody to have the same # number as me while being named the same, they are adding everyone & asking for money. what the f**k were you thinking @discord?”

After that, the streamer advised followers to exercise caution and disregard communications from alleged impersonators. “TO EVERYONE PLEASE IGNORE ANY DISCORD MESSAGES FROM ME UNLESS YOU HEAR MY VOICE. bro, how the f**k would they allow a nitro subscription to do that, that’s f**king terrible,”

It’s reasonable to say Train is enraged with the platform, even though Discord hasn’t yet commented on the subject.
