TimTheTatman Asks To Remove His CoD Bundle

TimTheTatman, a well-known Call of Duty broadcaster, is supporting the troubled content producer NICKMERCS after his infamous anti-LGBTQ+ remarks got him in trouble with Activision, which withdrew his downloadable Operator bundle from the game’s shop on June 7.

Other well-known figures have already stated their positions on the matter, with Dr. Disrespect uninstalling and boycotting the game in response to Activision’s choice. TimTheTatman is now supporting NICKMERCS and has even asked Activision to delete his Operator bundle in solidarity. Tim was evasive about the subject at the time, but he did mention NICKMERCS in the opening of his live on June 9. “I love Nick, I talked to him for about 30 minutes last night. I truly do not think he meant to hurt anyone with what he said,” said Tim. However, Tim later tweeted on June 10 following his stream, opting to stick by his “friend for years”, stating that it was “wrong for me to have [my Operator bundle] and him no longer have his.” He then requested Activision remove the TimTheTatman bundle from the CoD store alongside Nick’s.

Activision has not yet taken the TimTheTatman Operator bundle out of the Call of Duty store as of the time of publication. The two continue to be the most well-liked CoD streamers on Twitch and YouTube. According to TwitchTracker, Nick’s most recent stream had an average of roughly 14,000 viewers, and Tim’s YouTube channel is getting close to five million subscribers.

The event, which saw NICKMERCS tweet his thoughts about a conflict between anti-LGBTQ+ protestors and pro-LGBTQ+ demonstrators in California, the United States, earlier this week over a school vote on whether to recognize June as Pride Month, has divided the larger CoD community. Following up on his stream comments, NICKMERCS emphasized that he wasn’t just against the LGBT+ community and that such discussions with kids should take place at home with parents rather than in a classroom with teachers. A sizable portion of the community was not persuaded.

Fans were divided on the political issue at hand as well as Activision’s penalty as a result of NICKMERCS’s stance and Activision’s decision to remove his creator package from the market. While it’s unclear whether Activision will accede to Tim’s request to remove what must be one of their most popular products from their shop, undoubtedly impacting potential revenue, the fate of the Call of Duty creator skin program must also be considered. After this incident, the creator program might be changed or even abandoned.
