The xQc Doxxing Issue

The xQc Doxxing Issue

Due to an ongoing issue with doxxing, Twitch superstar Felix “xQc” Lengyel will have to relocate once more.

xQc just announced that he is returning to his native Canada. In an all-caps tweet, he stated that he already has a setup in place and that his streaming schedule is “back to normal.”

While the tweet was generally positive, with xQc displaying his modest, comfortable setting, the story behind xQc’s move is less so.

Fans of xQc will recall his frantic return to Canada in early 2021 after a house invasion. According to the streamer, someone tried to break into his house with a crowbar. Soon after, xQc disclosed that he was also being swatted, which is when someone calls the cops about something “dangerous” at the target’s address in order to summon the cops to their home, usually during a live stream. Swatting is a risky activity for which those found guilty have received prison sentences. However, this isn’t enough to prevent certain bad actors from continuing the unfortunate practice.

xQc eventually relocated to Los Angeles to avoid the incessant harassment, but claimed in late 2021 that he was dissatisfied with the city’s vibe. Soon after, he moved again, describing Los Angeles citizens as “weird” and the city as “fabricated.”

xQc has been forced to shift once more. The rapid change piqued fans’ interest, but it was soon discovered that xQc must continually migrate to avoid more doxxing and swatting. To keep his address hidden, xQc has frequently stayed at Air BnBs. It was never revealed whether another swatting or break-in occurred, or whether xQc just moved to avoid address leaks and harmful swatting instances.
