The Reasons Behind Creating the Streamer Awards

QTCinderella revealed in a new behind-the-scenes video on her YouTube channel that she launched The Streamer Awards to bring together content creators and celebrate the achievements of those who have worked in the sector.

QTCinderella and fellow streamer Maya Higa announced in early 2022 that they would be organizing the first-ever Streamer Awards. The event took months to plan, but it finally happened on March 12. The first awards event attracted over 300,000 viewers, shattering QTCinderella’s channel record. Over 250 streamers and industry professionals attended the event, which featured twenty-seven awards in total.

QTCinderella took fans “behind-the-scenes” of her massive preparation schedule, including the venue set-up, in a new video on her YouTube page. QTCinderella gave her audience some insight into what inspired the occasion when preparing the Hollywood auditorium.

QTCinderella explained, setting up a table as she spoke; “With streaming, it’s hard to feel a purpose in life because all you’re doing is playing video games all day, which I love, but my favorite things that happened to me would be when people invited me things.”

QTCinderella believes that streamers are underserved and has taken it upon herself to organize events like The Streamer Awards and Shit Camp, her prior streamer collaboration.

The award show host also stated that this was an opportunity to honor streaming veterans who are rarely recognized with ‘official’ awards.

The streamer stated; “It’s a fun way to get 250 streamers in one room and also recognize some people that have never been recognized. Like tonight, Asmongold is winning best MMORPG streamer, he said he had never won an award. Someone who has been in the industry for so long has never won an award. That’s crazy.”

The first annual Streamer Awards honored a large number of streamers and drew a large crowd. While we’ll have to wait and see if a second Streamer Awards will be held, QTCinderella’s video suggests it will be a long-term event.
