The G2 2020 Worlds Exclusive Documentary

One Last Try: G2 2020 Worlds Exclusive Documentary premiered on the team’s Twitch channel on December 17th.

An exchange of light-hearted messages went through the segment of the Preshow. It sets the tone for the rest of the show. Experiences of the off seasons, reflections on the past season and the possible documentary contents were discussed by the guests’ like Mid Laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther, Support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle, Jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, Head Coach Fabian “GrabbZ” Lohman, Head Analyst Christopher “Duffman” Duff and G2 League of Legends Team Manager Jonathan “Taco Storm” Singh.

The documentary part highlights the team’s experiences during the pandemic, footage of the team exploring in China, celebration of Luka “Perkz” Perkovic’s Birthday, unexpected loss against Team Liquid, games against Suning, Gen.G,  Damwon Gaming and the main highlights is on the team’s preparation and reactions, before, during and after the games. Behind the scenes, footage and commentary are supplemented with in-game voice comms and game footage. The documentary finishes mainly focussing on Perkz because he’s the first departing member of the five man squad which has become iconic with their world-class performances since 2018. The Documentary is full of joy and laughter but it also encapsulated the team’s moments of victories and defeats. 

The Aftershow segment discussed a wide range of topics including the quality of the documentary, G2 without Perkz, Perkz’ possible effect on NA region and the team’s expectations in the upcoming 2021 season.
