The Fiasco Of Rust Game

Valkyrae, Shroud, Sykkuno, and the fifty internet’s biggest content creators were about to enjoy a game of Rust when an unforeseen DDoS attack joined the game and messed the server up making it unplayable.

With a bunch of top streamers involved, it is not a surprise that many viewers and fans would be watching together with other big names. The biggest content creators on Twitch planned to host a game of Rust that would attract tons of viewers and bid adieu to 2020 with the use of streaming. Unfortunately, everything went down the drain when their server was DDoSed by hackers.

If you’re wondering what a Ddos is, it is a Distributed denial of service attack, a cyber-attack in which the perpetrator seeks to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting services of a host connected to the internet (Wikipedia).

Valkyrae, one of the organizers, trended on Twitter that day with #ValkyraeSupport saying that the server would be up and running again the next day, ready for another game with friends on December 27th.

BaboAbe on the other hand apologized to fans and assured everything would be fixed soon, “Sorry for the issues today!” he said. “Everything will be fixed, better and there will most likely be no issues tomorrow!”

With this type of event, it is safe to assume that they will probably secure their servers on their next attempt to be able to accomplish their plan to end this year with a banger.
