Sykkuno’s Subathon

Sykkuno’s Subathon

Following Ludwig’s epic one-month-long stream earlier this year, subathon streams appeared to be a passing craze, but one streamer is hoping to bring them back.

During popular Twitch streamer Sykkuno’s September 30th Twitch stream, the Twitch personality stunned his followers by disclosing that he would be doing a subathon stream, which had begun an hour and a half before he went live.

He said; “The timer has been happening the entire time and we only have eight minutes left. So guys, unfortunately, the subathon is about to end but I’ll keep streaming anyway because I have nothing else to do.”

Despite the streamer’s joking about the event coming to an end, viewers were quick to join on board by massively speeding up the clock, effectively increasing the amount of time Sykkuno must remain active.

The streamer must stay live until the timer approaches zero in self-imposed subathon streams. During the subathon, time will be added to the clock for every subscriber. In the instance of Sykkuno, it appears that each additional subscriber adds five seconds to the total time.

Sykkuno has well over four hours remaining on the clock and is still climbing. He didn’t specify a time limit for the subathon, so it’s unclear when it would stop. It might not be for a while, given the community’s support.
