Twitch Streamer Sushipotato Assaulted in Japan

Twitch streamer sushipotato’s clip of her recent live broadcast have become viral after she was assaulted by a Japanese bouncer after being denied entry into a ‘no foreigners’ club during a night out.

The IRL twitch streams are home to all sorts of wild events, especially when those streams leave the broadcaster’s home and move to the streets.

Now, a recent clip from half-Japanese, half-Irish Twitch streamer that goes by the username sushipotato has been sparking backlash across the net as the clip shows that sushipotato was being forcibly removed by what appears to be a bouncer from outside of what appears to be a club, being shoved, dragged by her backpack, and having her umbrella taken from her during a night out on the town.

Twitch streamer sushipotato was visibly upset and dumbfounded by the bouncer’s aggression. Luckily, it doesn’t appear that anyone was seriously injured during the incident.

However, in a further look into sushipotato’s VOD sheds more light on the situation. It can be seen that sushipotato was the one who first approaches the bouncer and asks if the club is friendly to foreigners, to which he appears to answer no. Because of this, sushipotato was visibly angry throwing questions on the bouncer then she further shows her passport to the bouncer as proof that she is in the country legally as a citizen. She criticize the bouncer of being a racist because of this.

When twitch streamer sushipotato leaves the club, explaining that the bouncer had effectively painted her as a “gaijin,” which means foreigner, due to her heritage. Then she goes on to explain that the rules are there simply due to the clubs not liking foreigners, viewing them as rude and out of touch with the culture. She stated; “This happens in Japan all the time. They just assume! I was so mad! Dude, do I have to take out my passport every time? Still, ‘We can’t allow people who aren’t Japanese!’”

This incident has prompted a heated discussion among viewers and outrage over the discrimination against sushipotato which is a Japanese citizen whose mixed heritage causes her to be turned away from venues in her own country over her looks.
