Summit1g In Trouble

Jaryd Lazar aka Summit1g has recently spoke about how close he is to getting a ban from Twitch. During these recent months, we have seen a number of Twitch streamers who have been deleting their past VOD’s and clips just to avoid getting a DMCA copyright strike and getting permanently banned from the platform. Some streamers have deleted their VOD’s and clips and are then re-uploading them into different platforms, just to not lose forever their VOD’s.

Most DMCA claims relate to music featured in old broadcasts, and it appears that no one is safe, not even streamers who have been on the platform for nearly a decade. Many streamers are indeed affected by this including the popular twitch streamer Summit1g who revealed that he received three copyright strikes in the ongoing DMCA controversy. During one of his live broadcasts, a viewers asked him about the situation and he responded by saying that it was a serious issue because he already received a DMCA strike for the third time and was on the verge of getting a permanent ban from the platform if he doesn’t delete all of his VOD’s and clips that contain copyright music.

He stated answering the viewer; “It’s getting kinda serious, I gotta be honest, I’ve been DMCA’d three times now. And I had to send off emails saying like ‘Yo, I started this deletion process, I need these reverted.’ I’m assuming that something went down because I’m not banned and I’m on a three-strike banger”.
