Summit1g Addresses Issue With Rust

Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar, a Twitch streaming star, has revealed his main gripe with the popular survival game Rust, claiming that shooting “feels like a chore.”

Summit1g has become one of Twitch’s most popular variety streamers since he started streaming regularly in 2013, garnering over 6.1 million followers on the Amazon-owned live streaming platform. The streamer started out in FPS games, even participating in Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for a short time, and has since mastered nearly every battle royale. Even after 200 hours of gaming, despite his knowledge and expertise in the genre, he still can’t get his mind around Rust’s tricky shooting and recoil mechanics.

Summit, a former FPS competitor, slammed Rust during his March 11 live show after learning that the game would be getting changed soon. He specifically targeted the game’s AK47, which he stated was a “chore to use.”

A viewer of the popular streamer remarked that the AK47 in Counter-Strike is similar to how tough it is to utilize weaponry in Rust. Summit, on the other hand, was adamant: “Nah it’s not even close dude. It’s like if you took a CS:GO AK47 and exacerbated it by like five times. You exacerbated its statistics of that thing, the recoil of it, the horizontal sway and all of that by five then you have the Rust AK47.”

Another viewer attempted to explain Summit’s stance as a result of his lack of experience with the popular survival game. Summit questioned, “Why does it make sense that the only thing I don’t like about your game is the recoil. How’s that a thing that’s okay? Why would you want that to be a deterrent for your game? The recoil being out of this world does not need to be a thing, in fact like I said it’s a deterrent. I’ve played FPS games my whole life, I don’t play Rust because it feels like you’re wrestling a snake when shooting guns. It’s not fun, it feels like a chore. Why the f**k would I play something like that?”

Fortunately for Summit, Rust developer Alistair McFarlane stated in a tweet on March 10 that a PvP patch is on the way that would address gunplay and other frequent issues. The new patch has no stated release date, but Summit and other players can only hope it arrives soon.
