YouTube Streamer Saves Man From Being Mugged

A youtube streamer that goes by the name Sherwindo or simply Sherwin have saved an Asina man from being attacked during his latest live broadcast. In the video that has now gone viral, sherwin was just wandering around the busy area when he suddenly noticed that a commotion was happening from a distance. His camera was showing his face and one showing his point of view. His YouTube chat got a front-row seat to what ended up being an act of random bystander heroism.

Sherwin quickly ran towards it while shouting “leave him alone” multiple times. The fallen man was lying beside his bicycle while asking for the streamer to call the police for help. As the attacker did not stop instantly, sherwin continued to shout “leave him alone” and “fuck off”. Sherwin gained the attention of a group of strangers asking what happened. Sherwin hastily responds that the attacker “was kicking him … he tried to curb-stomp him.” With this group immediately concerned and turning their attention, the attacker finally runs off for good. The one minute clip of the incident was shared more widely across the internet and many were amazed on how brave the streamer is.

In a response to all of the appreciation he is receiving on social media, Sherwin focused on how glad he was to help someone under threat as he stated; “I know what it’s like to be attacked for no good reason. I’m super glad I instinctively reacted fast. I’m happy I saved someone who was in serious danger.” Sherwin’s actions come at a time in which social media is rightfully ablaze with the #StopAsianHate movement, a direct response to rising hate crimes against Asians in the past year.
