Streamer Pokimane Responds To Trolls

During a stream reading out unban requests from banned viewers, Twitch star Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys had a humorous answer to trolls labeling her “ugly.”

Pokimane is a popular Twitch streamer and one of the site’s most-followed broadcasters in general. Anys is certainly a popular public personality, having over 8.5 million followers on the purple streaming platform, but with great renown comes, well, trolls. When you’re an internet sensation, however, abuse and unpleasant remarks are unavoidable. Fortunately, Anys is skilled at recognizing these comments for what they are: internet troll blabber.

During certain live streams, Pokimane reads aloud her unban requests from viewers. These requests typically ask broadcasters to lift their bans after explaining why they were banned and, in some cases, apologizing for the act that triggered the ban. Pokimane came across multiple comments calling her “ugly” during a recent unban request stream. 

She asks before launching into a mockingly “hurt” tirade; “What’s up with everybody calling me ugly? I mean, just because I don’t look my best everyday doesn’t mean I’m ugly, like that’s not very nice to say! Everybody has insecurities. And not everybody can be to everybody’s taste, so someone’s always gonna think you’re ugly.”

Pokimane then further exclaimed; “Just kidding! I don’t give a f**k! L, nerd! But actually, I don’t, it’s just annoying to read. Like, what is the point? Also, don’t call someone ugly if your icon is of the Mona Lisa! Because then, I can’t roast you back!” 

Pokimane urged viewers who mock others’ appearances to display their own, pointing out that many rude commenters never use their own photos in their profile images. Pokimane clearly isn’t bothered by such remarks, and she’s more than eager to roast them again.
