Streamer Mother’s Home Swatted By Trolls

Some streamers have become victims of swatting. Popular Fortnite streamers Bugha and Tfue were swatted in their own homes. Swatting is a criminal harassment tactic of deceiving an emergency service into sending a police and emergency service response team to another person’s address. The goal of swatting is to have police charge into the home and subdue the victim.

It is also defined as a type of prank call that is done to some streamers. Recently, another twitch streamer became a victim of this situation. During one of the live streams of Twitch streamer Kwitty23, he suddenly saw a message into his chat stating; “Swat,” “Look outside,” and “Go check out your window before you’re the next reported dead body.” Kwitty23 soon realized that the commenters had swatted his old address which is the home of his mother as of the moment.

Therefore, instead of Kwitty23, his mother was the target of the said swatting. Kwitty23 tweeted out; “There were a few people who came to my channel today during stream yelling “SWAT” and “look outside”. I thought they were trolls, turns out they got a hold of my old address where my mom lives and sent the swat team and my mom had guns raised at her. I feel sick to my stomach.” He also went on to release the names of the accounts who had sounded off in his chat, asking his viewers to report them if possible.
