Streamer Jaxstyle Raises $170,000

During a recent livestream marathon dedicated to raising money for the cause of providing better psychiatric care to those with mental health issues, Danish Twitch streamer Jacob “Jaxstyle” started crying. The Danish mental health nonprofit Psykiatrifonden received all net earnings from the charity subathon.

Between December 26 and December 30, Jaxstyle also participated in a charity subathon 2.0. Danish media state that he has amassed a total of more than 1.2 million Danish Krones (DKK). After raising more over $170,000 for the foundation during his first charity stream, the streamer became obviously upset. He responded to the historic achievement by saying: “I’m grateful for all of you” (translated to English)

Around one and a half weeks ago, Jaxstyle, a Danish Twitch broadcaster with over 270K followers, planned a charity stream on his channel to raise money for mental health issues. As was previously mentioned, the main foundation connected to his stream is Psykiatrifonden. The streamer was able to surpass his initial target during his first subathon. Jaxstyle, who was clearly crying, said: “It means so much to me that I’m the reason some of you keep fighting or that I have improved your everyday life… Especially because some people have difficulty finding that person or that something that keeps them going. I’m extremely moved that you guys want to support this and I’m grateful for all of you that come.” (translated by Redditor)

The initial target for Jaxstyle was DKK 150K. But after his second subathon, the streamer was able to raise more than DKK 1.2 million (at the time of writing). On the website for the official fundraiser, the streamer outlined: “I have created this fundraiser for the benefit of the Psychiatry Foundation, because they work for a cause that deserves much more attention and support. During our lives, every third of us will experience mental health problems, and far more will experience being relatives. Yet it is still associated with taboo and fear of touch, and many know far too little about how to prevent or help.” (translated into English)

Jaxstyle discussed the foundation he has associated with by saying: “The Psykiatrifonden works to change that every day, and I would like to help with that – because everyone deserves a good life.” (translated into English)
