Streamer Goes Viral, Discovering How Difficult 90s Video Games Were

A Twitch streamer that goes by the name Storymodebae was left shocked after she recently decided to try out a 90’s game called The Lion King. The 16-bit versions of Disney’s Lion King of the SNES and Sega Genesis is a game known for its difficulty. It was released in the same year as the Disney film after which it is named, and it contains many of the hallmark game mechanics associated with platforming games. Players control Simba and move throughout the game by jumping from platform to platform while also trying to land on top of enemies and find collectibles.

Twitch streamer Storymodebae decided recently to try out and play The Lion King by taking advantage of the PS5’s backward compatibility. She started having trouble on the very first level and constantly dying to random bugs but she soon learned she wasn’t allowed to touch at all. Eventually, she manages to pass the first level and move on but then on the second level, she runs out of lives and the game sends her back to the start and she has a hilarious reaction to it. She was left completely stunned after the game sent her back to the start.

She exclaimed; “Game over?! What do you mean game over? What do you mean?!” Twitch streamer Storymodebae further uploaded this clip to Twitter with a caption: “Games in the 90s really didn’t care about auto save or our feelings at ALL” and it quickly went viral and gained over 4 million views during the past few days. Other gamers quickly responded with their own stories of playing difficult platforming games from the 90’s.
