Streamer EinSebastian Attacked On Stream

One German Twitch streamer discovered that live streaming can be a shockingly risky activity when two men attacked him in Paris after he unintentionally recorded them on camera.

Sebastian, a German Twitch streamer known online as “EinSebastian,” discusses his life with viewers through IRL and Just Chating streams. Sebastian has most recently been streaming from Paris while chronicling his trips and varied adventures there. On July 9, nevertheless, he encountered difficulty after unintentionally photographing two males passing by who didn’t seem to want to be caught on video.

The streamer turned the camera toward the street he was facing while seated on a sidewalk in the renowned “city of love.” Sebastian could be heard joining in on the laughter and jokingly telling his audience, “I hate you guys so much.” Unfortunately, two males were passing by at the same time who mistakenly thought the camera was trained on them. Before the camera went dark, one of the men charged forward Sebastian after he said he was live broadcasting. When the stream started up again, Sebastian was yelling “it’s deleted” over his shoulder while sprinting.

He told viewers, “The dude back there just came after me.”

One person commented on Reddit about the altercation; “Really bad timing on that one. Was randomly laughing and moved the camera to the person walking by. If I was a paranoid weirdo I would have thought they were filming me and laughing which is what seemed to set the guy off.”

Others saw the episode as a cultural problem, saying it was typical of Paris.

For the time being, all that matters is that Sebastian is safe and doesn’t appear to be planning to stop streaming because of the incident.
