Streamer Awards Helped Disguised Toast

In a recent broadcast, Twitch star Disguised Toast discussed his mental health, claiming that his appearance at the Streamer Awards helped him overcome his fear and sadness.

Last weekend, the first Streamer Awards were held, honoring the best and brightest in online broadcasting entertainment. Pokimane, Valkyrae, Ludwig, and others were among the streamers in attendance. Disguised Toast was another streamer who attended the Awards, and he claims that attending the black-tie event was beneficial to his mental health.

Toast said during a recent Twitch stream that he’d been battling with depression to the point where he didn’t want to leave his room.

He began stating; “For those who don’t know, over the last month I’ve been mega, mega unmotivated and borderline depressed, and I don’t use that word lightly. I was sleeping 16 hours a day. It was really bad. I didn’t want to leave my bed. The idea of meeting people gave me so much anxiety.”

Toast, on the other hand, remarked that attending the Streamer Awards gave him a big lift after engaging with fans. He explained; “The event yesterday helped a lot, because when people came up to me and said ‘Toast, I love your content,’ It made me feel motivated, because I’m like, damn, you like my content? Because I haven’t been making content. I appreciate the words. It makes me not want to disappoint them… It was more them showing appreciation.”

Toast also mentioned that he’s been having trouble streaming, stating that he’s having trouble finding a game that he’s “passionate” about — but that his followers are encouraging him as he works through this difficult time.

The broadcaster was named Best Strategy Game Streamer, though his streaming company, OfflineTV, was not named Best Content Organization, despite the fact that he believes OTK deserved to win.
