Rust Views Rise On Twitch By Millions

The newly popular game Rust is a multiplayer-only survival video game developed by Facepunch Studios. The objective of Rust is to survive in the wilderness using gathered or stolen materials and players must successfully manage their hunger, thirst, and health, or risk dying. It first came out in 2013.

For the past few weeks, Rust has been lining up among other popular games on Twitch such as Among Us and Phamastophobia as it has had a sudden boost in viewership after some popular streamers jumped on to play and stream this game. OfflineTv recently created a server on Rust involving other popular streamers such as xQc, Pokimane, Shroud and more. Because of these popular content creators, they gave Rust a massive viewership boost on the platform.

The January 4th twitter post of Rust  announced that they just reached the one million viewers club on Twitch while the game has over 27 million hours watched on Twitch as well. However, as the controversies are still coming in regarding the OTV rust server, OfflineTv members have announced that they will be creating a new server on January 7th and will not invite many people as they will just focus on the RP with some incentivized PvP.
