Rainbow Six Caster Jess Quits Streaming Siege

Jessica Bolden most commonly known online as Jess is an Australian Rainbow Six Siege coach, analyst and commentator. However, she has recently revealed that she will no longer stream the game Siege due to the toxic behaviour of the community.

On February 15th in a video posted on twitter, Jess announced that she’ll be stepping back from streaming Siege for the foreseeable future despite investing thousands of hours into the title as she stated; “If you’ve been watching me recently, you will have seen that it’s become almost impossible for me to stream in the Oceanic region, Toxicity is a nightmare. If you were watching today, I got threatened with severe sexual assault. The N-word was raining left, right and center.”

She further added; “It’s gotten to the point where I can’t play this very easily on stream. It’s very hard to keep it together when every game you either have someone refusing to play the game as a team and inciting a lot of toxic behaviour… it’s become almost impossible for me to stream this game without feeling like it’s just taking a lot of toll on me.”

According to her, she said that she will be looking to stream other FPS games for the coming week. Parker ‘Interro’ Mackay, a fellow commentator, replied to the twitter video to show his support stating that; “Streamsniping is at an all time high and toxicity has exploded. I don’t get it and don’t know what can be done to fix it.”

Siege isn’t the first game to be affected by toxicity and won’t be the last, although we’ll have to see if Ubisoft will look to prioritise the issue over the coming year.
