QTCinderella Takes A Break

Following a barrage of critical comments about her previous Streamer Awards program, popular Twitch broadcaster and Streamer Awards host QTCinderella announced on Twitter that she wanted to take a hiatus from social media.

Along with fellow streamer Maya Higa, QTCinderella created, produced, and hosted the inaugural Streamer Awards on March 12th. The award event was a huge success, with record-breaking viewership and accolades from a slew of streamers, viewers, and industry giants.

Though many fans and streamers praised the Streamer Awards, others were eager to provide suggestions on how the evening could have run more smoothly. Valkyrae and Sykkuno, while later apologizing, questioned their exclusions from the annual recap video package that aired during the event.

Other viewers had similar complaints about the usage of streamer clips, the hosting of the event, and even the seating layout. Despite the fact that many streamers have defended QTCinderella’s work, the backlash has prompted the streamer to take a break from social media. QTCinderella claimed she is not “asking for your nitpicking or suggestions at this time” after creating a Twitter thread over the use of streamer clips. The streamer said she ‘hit a wall’ with the incoming vitriol and unsolicited remarks about the awards show in a separate tweet. Despite the fact that QTCinderella has been removed from Twitter until further notice, she has continued to stream on Twitch.
