President Donald Trump Banned By Twitter

The President of The United States of America was permanently suspended from Twitter after his involvement at the capitol riot.

The employees of Twitter are scared of what might happen to them which is why they decided to set their social media account private. Most of them are scared of being targeted by the supporters of President Trump.

Twitter is a platform you can use to promote or just say about anything you want and because of its large number of users, you can easily connect to people through tweets and retweets. President Donald Trump is one of its users that recently used the platform to incite violence on January 6th at the US Capitol.

The President tweeted and told his supporters right before the attack that they “have to show strength” and “fight much harder” encouraging his supporters to walk down to the Capitol. His tweets resulted in a riot and Twitter decided to permanently suspend his account.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was not convinced of the temporary ban on the president which led to a decision to permanently suspend him because of his tweet on the day after the riot happened which resulted in real-world violence.

300 employees of Twitter signed an internal petition calling for the President’s suspension. After the decision was made and publicly announced, Snapchat and Twitch also issued its own permanent ban and Facebook put an indefinite ban saying in a statement that the risks of allowing the president to use their platform was simply ‘too great’.

Another platform Shopify also took down Trump’s campaign store where his merch is posted.

Twitter CEO Jack Darsey’s Tweet thread last Wednesday says that it’s the right call.
