Pokimane Using VTuber Model Less Often

Well known Twitch streamer Imane Anys aka Pokimane recently explained as to why she has stopped using her V-Tuber model as much as she used to. Being a VTuber allows the streamers to show a virtual representation of themselves without revealing their face. As the time passes by, they are becoming more and more popular and it is no surprise that some existing creators are interested in using the idea for themselves.

Back in September, Pokimane announced her debut as a Vtuber and she posted a clip of her new model on Twitter. However, while some praised Pokimane for her new approach, a large section called her out for attempting to cash in on the trend, at the expense of the original Vtubers. Pokimane responded to critics at the time on Twitter and said that she didn’t want to encroach on the VTuber community and that she hopes to partake in a respectful manner.Since then, Pokimane hasn’t used her VTuber model as much as she did before.

During one of recent live broadcasts of virtual streamer CodeMiko, Pokimane explained as to why she stopped using her V-Tuber model. She went on to explain that she now does it less because some people were asking ‘Where’s the camera? Where’s the camera?’. Then she further stated that she loves the style of Vtuber streaming as she stated; “One of the big reasons why I got into VTubing is because of what you’re doing now, it just seems like the future it’s just so, this is so f***ing cool, you are the future.”
