Pokimane Says She’ll Never Join an Esports Org

Popular female twitch streamer Imane Anys aka Pokimane has revealed that she has received offers from several popular Esports organizations but went on to reject the offers and she provided the reasons why she wouldn’t join an Esports team during one of her videos. Pokimane is one of the most popular female streamers on the internet, with over 7.7 million followers on the streaming platform.

However, in a stream-highlights video that she posted to her YouTube channel on April 28th, Pokimane addressed the topic of her ever signing with an esports organization after a fan asked her if she had any plans to join a team in the future. Here’s her response; “No. For years and years I have been offered plenty of times. Plenty of teams. But I’m on OTV. And you know, we created OfflineTV and I feel like if I joined a team, it kind of diluted my brand and it diluted the OTV brand.” Pokimane also stated that joining an Esports organization would bring many obligations and deliverables, insinuating that she won’t be able to give her hundred percent to anything and keep dabbling in different worlds.

Furthermore, when she was asked about if OfflineTV had any plans to expand with spinoff content groups like the Hype House, Pokimane had an interesting explanation for why that wouldn’t necessarily be beneficial to her or her partners as she stated; “It is something we have considered. OTV branches in regions. OTV Texas, OTV Canada. Could be interesting. But what is the structure? What is the benefit, what is the liability?”
