Pokimane Mocked

Following her prior tweet on Quackity, Pokimane received some negative feedback from her Valorant teammates, who criticized her. The Canadian is one of the most popular streamers in recent years, but it appears that some male gamers are wary about her inclusion in Riot Games’ fast-growing game.

Other players have apparently been protesting about female gamers in Valorant for a specific reason. According to a Reddit thread, whenever a female gamer appears or speaks, at least one male gamer will make things awkward and end up throwing the match. 

After dying in a Valorant match, Pokimane received this statement from a teammate who was indirectly criticizing her performance. She then reacted angrily as if she had been seriously offended, and she had to take a long breath to calm down. The teammate continued trash-talking saying; “Go play Minecraft. It’s a little less scary, unless the creepers scare you too.”

The male player playing with Pokimane constantly stabbed her with these insults, attempting to hide his toxicity. It would irritate anyone, especially a high-profile streamer who is being targeted due to a gender mismatch. 

“Don’t talk back…don’t do it, girl.” Under her breath, Pokimane repeated this to herself. It took a few seconds for the shocked expression on her face to go away, as did the infliction in her demeanor.

Toxic male gamers have previously targeted female gamers, claiming that they aren’t actual players and are only doing things for attention. When it comes to a female gamer’s performance, this often leads to male teammates being unintentionally toxic, and Pokimane nearly blew off on her teammate in the middle of a game.

This is a much worse affront to her, given that many people believe she is above average at Valorant. The poison threatened to overwhelm her, but happily, she knows how to remain professional, even when someone is putting her down for no reason.
