Pokimane Concerned About xQc Challenging Olympics Over His Twitch DMCA Strikes

One of the most popular female streamers around the world, Imane Anys aka Pokimane has voiced out her concern over xQc challenging the International Olympic Committee due to his Twitch DMCA strike counter-claim.

Twitch star Felix Lengyel aka xQc has made headlines this week when he revealed his plan to challenge the International Olympic Committee over his DMCA strike. He was live DMCA-d after he was detected streaming content from the 2020 Olympics live on Twitch.

He received a 2 day ban because of this and when he returned, he went on to state that he and his lawyer, Video Game Attorney Ryan Morrison, intend to countersue the IOC. Now, it seems like everyone is talking about xQc’s decision to issue a DMCA counterclaim against the International Olympic Committee.

During a recent stream, Twitch streamer Pokimane voiced out her concerns regarding a potential conflict of interest. Speaking about Ryan Morrison, Pokimane stated; “I believe he acts as a lawyer and as an agent to streamers and content creators and I feel like that is not a good position to be in”. Pokimane admitted she doesn’t know the lawyer personally and didn’t want to defame his character in any way, but has some concerns over the belief he allegedly acts as an agent as well as a lawyer to several streamers.

She then further explained that it could even be a conflict of interest in some cases as she added; “Your lawyer should always be someone who is trying to get as strict and as beneficial of a contract as possible.”

Pokimane also said that she feels as though; “those two roles should be split” and doesn’t think that any single person should be acting as “both a lawyer and as an agent”.
