Pignatiello Deletes Social Media Following Criticism

Argentina swimmer Delfina Pignatiello decided to step away from social media following the harsh criticism she received for her performance at the Olympics Games.

Delfina Pignatiello received harsh messages after she finished at eighth places when she had been expected to finish higher. In response, she deleted her content on the streaming platform Twitch where she had more than 800,000 followers. She also deleted photos and videos from her social media accounts and said that she won’t be tweeting anymore and announced that she won;t do any more streams.

She thanked everyone who supported her all throughout but she said that she’s deeply sorry even though she love keep doing streams and posting content, but as of now, she’s in a situation that has become too much and that she felt deeply hurt and that she must and need to prioritize herself especially her mental health and wellbeing.

Pignatiello said that she doesn’t know what will happen in the future but she wants her fans and followers to know that they will miss her and that she will forever carry them in her heart. She added that people can be cruel and no matter how much she tries to ignore that, it was really hard for her and that it affected her.

She is now trying to ignore all of it and said that the main reason why she wants to take a break from social media was that she wants to look after her mental health.
