PewDiePie Debuts New Virtual YouTuber Avatar

A Virtual YouTuber is popular these days as many big streamers have decided to make their own avatar including the popular twitch streamer Pokimane. A Virtual YouTuber or VTuber is an online entertainer that uses a digital avatar generated using computer graphics.

Now, popular Youtube streamer and content creator Felix Kjellberg aka PewDiePie recently announced that he will be going without a facecam on his stream as he debuts a new Virtual YouTuber avatar. He was inspired by the likes of Dream and Corpse husband that have risen into popularity even without showing their faces. After returning from a New Year’s break PewDiePie followed this trend creating an avatar to turn off his facecam for his future uploads. On January 24th, PewDiePie rocked a Minecraft-themed avatar for his comeback video and then on January 25th, he debuted an anime-style avatar in true VTuber fashion.

The avatar is shown wearing a school uniform jacket, the classic anime-protag hairstyle and a blase expression. However, it is not the only anime-style avatar that he’s been rocking lately as Pewdiepie used another anime face-rig getup. It is completely different from the first one as this avatar has white hair and a sweater-vest, as though its designer was aiming for a knock-off Draco Malfoy.
