Pestily Wins Out xQc As The Most Subscribed Streamer On Twitch

Twitch streamer and former Australian army soldier Paul Licari AKA “Pestily” is just 400 subscribers away from being the platform’s most subscribed streamer.

Pestily has been broadcasting on Twitch since October 2017, shortly after leaving the Army, where he served for eight years as an infantryman. He took a three-month pause after feeling the urge to pursue “something different” in life, during which time he decided to try his hand at streaming.

He mostly plays and streams one of the most popular online games called Escape from Tarkov, with the game accounting for over 90% of his total streams. Initially, he also streams a series of “just chatting” streams in which he argues with viewers while fishing.

Presently, Pestily is participating in a 50-day event that started on June 30th and is still going on. All throughout the event, the streamer has already sponsored several giveaways, putting him on the edge of being the platform’s most subscribed content creator.

Pestily officially now has more than 66,314 Twitch subscribers, according to TwitchTracker. This ranks him in second place, after xQc who has 66,708 subscribers. Pestily’s subathon event, which is now in progress, is estimated to have already exceeded xQc’s total subscribers.

Pestily has given away 12 PCs as part of the event so far, which is one of the reasons for the increase in subscriptions. Pestily had just 17,642 subscribers at the end of June. Since the beginning of July, he has over 50k subscribers. The streamer is on the edge of being Twitch’s most-subscribed content creator, but he still has a long way to go in terms of overall followers.

As of now, Pestily has 964,000 followers, which is a small figure compared to the majority of other top Twitch streamers. Nevertheless, Pestily is still a relatively young streamer who has benefited from an increasing popularity in the game Escape from Tarkov on Twitch since the beginning of 2020.

Regardless, the streamer is one of the several who have benefitted by organizing a “Twitch subathon” and has been streaming since approximately June 30th. Twitch streamers like Ludwig Ahgren and Ryan “PandaTV” Dingle have previously benefited greatly from similar subathon events including gifts or charitable donations.

In terms of philanthropy, Pestily sponsored a variety of charity streams from August 2020 to the beginning of 2021, generating more than $1.2 million for the foundation called Starlight Children’s Foundation. After 2300 hours of streaming $1,240,327.76. Pestily previously stated that he will continue to donate to charity causes and that he has some entertaining ideas for 2021.

In 2021, Pestily continued to host Starlight charity streaming, with the subathon event proving to be a big success for the streamer.
