Ninja Is not Bothered

Twitch streamer Ninja’s Twitch viewership continues to fall, but it doesn’t appear to concern him.

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins had a rapid climb on Twitch, where he was a huge hit playing Fortnite. He was a professional Halo player who went to Twitch and Fortnite to draw in millions of viewers. This isn’t to suggest he’s no longer successful – with over 17 million followers, he’s still the most followed person on the platform. On Twitch, it appears that his time in the spotlight is winding down, and it seems like he is unconcerned with the drop in viewership.

Many individuals, including this streamer, have gone to Mixer to try it out. People returned to Twitch/YouTube when things eventually failed. Ninja was one of the people who returned to Twitch, but he did so with a considerably larger bag of cash than the rest of us. It’s not bad that he still gets around 11,000 viewers every stream, but it’s nothing compared to what he used to get. After going to Mixer, he never truly recovered his fame. People, it turns out, do not want to leave their emotes behind.

In a recent interview, he stated; “No one’s gonna stay on top forever, especially when it comes to live-streaming; there’s always somebody new and hot,” Blevins said. “I have no intention of being that guy anymore. I know I’m not going to pull 100,000 viewers on [Twitch] anymore. I don’t have time to do that. I have a wife; I have a family.”

Of course, this is a reasonable perspective. Nobody can stay on top indefinitely, and Ninja seemed to be okay with it. He’s already made a large sums of money streaming and, if he wanted to, he probably wouldn’t need to do it any longer. He may now play any games he wants while still attracting a good following. It also appears that Fortnite isn’t doing it on Twitch anymore, but that might change at any time.

If you look at the numbers, Ninja’s falling off, but he’s already been there, done that.  Ninja’s Twitch viewership may has decreased, yet he has never seemed happier to create content.
