Nickmercs Subscriber Growth

When Nickmercs returned to Twitch on June 20, he increased the impact of a controversial Pride tweet and added almost 11,000 new subscribers.

The FaZe Clan-sponsored streamer responded to his viewers on stream and clarified his position about a tweet about a pro-LGBTQ+ demonstration from June 7. He declared, “I stand by everything I said.” He also claimed social media twisted his words and that his tweet wasn’t anti-LGBTQ+. “I do have a lot of people thinking that I hate them because they are a certain way, and that’s just crazy,” he said. “Listen, these kids are very young, can’t they just go be kids? Gotta nothing to do with that.”

Nickmercs’ response to an event at a pro-LGBTQ+ rally in Glendale, California, when individuals were allegedly assaulted by anti-LGBTQ+ protesters, sparked the dispute. It happened in front of a school board meeting about celebrating Pride Month. He tweeted back at esports announcer Puckett, stating, “They should leave little children alone.” He went silent on social media and Twitch after receiving backlash. His Operator bundle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was also removed the next day.

Nickmercs’ return stream after a two-week absence suggests that he has now recovered from the issue. According to Twitchmetrics, he saw a peak of over 22,000 concurrent viewers and added almost 11,000 subscribers during the broadcast. That’s fucking wild, man. At the conclusion of the stream, he stated, “From fucking canceled to that.”

Call of Duty has yet to receive the streamer’s Operator bundle. “It’s like I went up there and did a speech. Lots of people showing their true colors,” he said. Nickmercs appears to be back to his regular streaming schedule at this time.
