Nickmercs Gives Thoughts on New Apex Legends Map

Popular streamer NICKMERCS is optimistic about the new Apex Legends map Storm Point, which will be released in Season 11, and feels it will go “a long way” toward resolving what he considers to be the game’s most serious flaw.

Apex Legends is coming to “Storm Point,” a new tropical battleground, with its November 2 update, as the Respawn battle royale enters Season 11.

Storm Point is the first time Apex Legends players have had a new map to play on since October 28, 2020 – more than a year ago. In 2019, Kings Canyon was introduced to the battle royale, followed by World’s Edge in Season 3 and Olympus in Season 7. Needless to say, the map craze is at an all-time high.

Twitch superstar NICKMERCS, who was a prominent figure in the Warzone-to-Apex Legends campaign earlier this year, is caught up in the hype. This week, he’s “super excited” to get his hands on the new battleground. And, on top of all the usual hype, Kolcheff has high hopes for one particular aspect of Storm Point: he sees it as the ideal solution to a significant Apex Legends problem.

Since defecting to Respawn’s flagship title in September, NICKMERCS has had nothing but praise for Apex. He’s returned to Warzone on occasion, but he’s still a big fan of the character-based game. However, that’s not to say he sees it as the perfect game.

The Twitch star has vowed to leave the battle royale if servers aren’t restored, has repeatedly complained about the ranked system, and can’t bear the “third-party” mentality that has grown in Apex Legends in the two years since the game’s surprise introduction.

All of that, he argues, could be over; the new map’s inflated size — 20 percent larger than any other Apex battleground, according to Respawn — means it “has the chance to be the best of all four maps.”

The Storm Point map, with its bloated 20 percent size increase, is far from the only item that has gotten NICKMERCS “really hyped.” Season 11 of Apex Legends will introduce a new character, Ash, and he can’t wait.
