Neekolul’s Response

Twitch streamer and tiktok star Neekolul responded to the criticism after she posted her $2million apartment tour youtube video. Neekolul recently sparked controversy after she posted a video that showed her $2 million apartment on YouTube. Many have taken to the comments on both the video and her Twitter to criticise Neekolul for ‘hypocrisy’, even asking viewers not to judge.

The video so far has almost 62,000 downvotes, and only 4,600 upvotes, along with thousands of comments calling Neekolul out for “using ideology as a fashion statement”. Many in the comments also pointed out that her statements on taxing the rich seemed at odds with moving to another state where taxes are lower for the wealthy after becoming wealthy herself. Also, some streamers such as Miczkif and HasanAbi also shared their reactions regarding the matter which they both claimed $2m is not an accurate price for the apartment, and that she was either “scammed” or lied about the price.

During one of Neekolul’s live broadcasts, she responded to the criticism saying that she was neither surprised nor disappointed in the dislikes she was getting for the video. Neekolul addressed the issue as she stated that she doesn’t care how many dislikes the video has received now because dislikes don’t do anything. She also claimed that she could disable the dislike if she wanted to. Then she further explained that despite the video getting a lot of dislikes, it only meant that it has a lot of viewers and a lot of ads on it, meaning that she still gets something out of it. Here’s what she said; “I don’t care how many dislikes it has because dislikes don’t do anything. I don’t understand why people are like ‘I’m gonna dislike it’ and I could disable the dislikes on it if I wanted to. But I don’t care, because that video has a lot of views and it also has a lot of ads on it, so at the end of the day I still get something.”
