Nairo Announces Switch to YouTube

Twitch streamer and a Smash pro, Nairoby Quezada aka Nairo have uploaded a YouTube video of him explaining and announcing that he will start streaming on youtube after being permanently banned from twitch. It all began when Nairo was accused of having a sexual encounter with the streamer Zack Lauth aka CaptainZack when Nairo was 20 and Zack was 15. The accusation rocked the Super Smash Bros. esports community and led to Nairo being banned from Super Smash Bros. competitions.

Nairo released a statement on Twitter explaining his side of the story claiming that he is the victim as it was Zack who had molested him. After this, several fans have called for Nairo to have his name cleared on all platforms. After campaigning from both fans and fellow pros Nairo was unbanned from competing in Smash tournaments back in March. It seems that Nairo is still permanently banned on Twitch as he is still not allowed to stream on the platform. On April 2nd, he uploaded a youtube video announcing his return to streaming as he explained that he would be using YouTube instead of Twitch.

He stated; “I’m gonna continue to try and get my Twitch channel back, but in the meantime, I’m gonna start streaming here on YouTube. Twitch has rules in place that don’t allow a banned streamer to be showcased on another Twitch stream, otherwise that stream could potentially get banned as well. For example, if a new character comes out and I’m streaming on YouTube and a friend of mine is streaming on Twitch, if we want to play against each other like how we used to for other character releases, we won’t be able to do that anymore because they’re streaming on Twitch.” Nairo’s return to the Smash scene was welcomed by fans across the board, who were delighted to see him back producing content.
