Myth Confronts A Stream Sniper

Myth, a popular Twitch streamer, came face to face with an avid stream sniper, who detailed his elaborate setup for getting into nearly all of the streamer’s VALORANT lobbies.

Stream sniper is one of the most common issues for streamers in any game or genre. When a viewer utilizes a streamer’s broadcast to locate them in-game or in real life, this is known as sniping. Users frequently employ this technique to gain a tactical advantage against the streamer, troll their broadcast, or annoy the broadcaster directly. Because of the widespread nature of the problem, streamers often take several precautions to reduce the risk of stream snipers in their games. When queueing for a game, many broadcasters, especially those who routinely play skilled-based matching, use a broadcast delay or completely cover their screen.

Former TSM streamer Myth’s interaction with one of his stream snipers revealed that this may no longer be enough, as he outlined his sniping setup. The viewer acknowledged to being a stream sniper after identifying a player who had been matched up with numerous VALORANT games in a row. He revealed that his friend constructed an API software that tracks when Myth opens his queue in VALORANT. The efficacy of the user’s program astounded both the streamer and his teammates, who joked that the stream sniper was practically queueing with Myth every game.

Myth remarked; “I always wondered how the fuck you were able to get into every queue even whenever I had delay on and I was covering,”

The stream sniper claimed that he knows everything about every game and queue Myth enters, including how the streamer had someone dodge his game. With little power to control the sniper’s ability to queue with him, Myth said with an exhausted sigh, “I hate this so much.” 

Despite not being able to disable the stream sniper’s application, Myth was able to block the user on VALORANT to avoid being matched with him. However, it’s uncertain whether this will be a long-term solution, as the shooter had shown himself to be exceptionally inventive in his quest to play with Myth.
